Friday Folk Weekend Festival

The Friday Folk Weekend Festival came to The Venue, Stocksbridge on 24th & 25th September 2010.

Running over two days, the event featured concerts, singarounds and floor spot performer sessions and raised money  in support of our chosen local charity, the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind.

All performers, organisers and volunteers gave their time for free to help support the charity and we would like to thank everyone who helped. In total we raised £332.32 from all the ticket, raffle and donation money you gave.

Thanks to our artists Anthony John Clarke & Ray Baguley, Steve Wise, John Watterson (Fake Thackray) and Harriet Bartlett who gave their time for free. To our wonderful stage and sound crew: Alex, John and Ben whose input and professionalism was key to making everything work so well and also our hospitality team, Max in the Green Room, Barbara and Graham in the kitchen and not forgetting The Venue's General Manager, Suzie Cross and the staff who spent endless days, weeks and months making sure everything was in place for the event to go ahead.

Well done everyone, you should be very proud.

About the SRSB

All proceeds from the festival go to the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, registered charity no. 1047257.

The SRSB, established in 1860, is one of Sheffield's oldest charities supporting over 3,000 visually impaired people of all ages in our local area.

They provide a high quality programme of welfare, education, training, recreation, counselling and care for their clients.

It is an entirely voluntary organisation, which receives no money from national or local government and relies on the generosity of the public and local businesses.
